4200 people saw his talk at Lyceum Theatre. More than a third (or around 1500 people) bought their tickets through Popbitch. So it was like being in a very quiet Popbitch Xmas party. The Guardian has been hyping his appearance all week as akin to the Second Coming, and were unsurprisingly disappointed in today’s review that instead of turning water into wine or something he just told one of those very personal micro-examples which form the basis of his books. Afterwards, we went to his drinks party and were heart-warmed by the fact that he seemed as shy and uncomfortable being feted by his fans as he seemed at ease on stage in front of them.

Edit: we’re not stalking him but Malcolm was at the Ivy Club this lunchtime.
