A Furry Farewell To George W Bush

In five days time George W Bush will pack his bags and step down as President of the United States. But it’s not just the human race that is looking forward to his departure; our furry little friends will be breathing a sigh of relief too.

Word around the White House is that Bush is trying rush through some last minute reforms to the Endangered Species Act before he leaves. The unpopular amendments will allow drilling, mining and major construction projects to go ahead without full scientific and environmental assessments – essentially shafting every single animal on the ESA list.

Sadly, some of our favourite creatures appear on that list – including this bug-eyed bundle of joy: the mouse lemur.

You can almost hear it squeaking “O-ba-ma! O-ba-ma!”

Not long now, little guy…
