“When Sin City star Mickey Rourke was filming A Prayer For The Dying, he was taken on a tour of Belfast. The was first time he’d ever been to Ireland, despite allegations of him giving money to Sinn Fienn and the IRA. While walking near the Shankhill Road, Mickey (seemingly oblivious to the red, white and blue kerbstones) whipped off his shirt to show off his IRA Tattoo. His horrified escorts pointed out that this really wasn’t a good idea. Mickey replied “What? These people is Irish… they’ll LOVE it”

During the time of the West End Frost/Nixon stage show, Casino Royale opened. Frank Langella told the cast he was taking them to see it and then on to dinner. They got to Leicester Square Odeon, where Langella spluttered with rage at the price of the tickets and demanded that someone call the film’s producer Barbara Broccoli saying, “They wouldn’t charge ME to see one of their movies”. No-one knew the phone number so after a while Frank paid. For his own ticket. The rest of the cast quietly paid for their tickets and followed and the entire event was never mentioned again.
