The Imelda Marcos Disco Opera

Written by: admin

You’re interested in the early life of the shoe-obsessed ex-First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos, right? And you enjoy the weirdly eclectic output of David Byrne of Talking Heads too, don’t you?

Good news. That 70s disco-opera concept album he’s written with Fatboy Slim is now  available to stream in full from the NPR website.

Better news. Kate Pierson from the B52s is doing vocals on it (as are a wide range of awesome female vocalists – St Vincent, Camille, Nellie McKay, Natalie Merchant, Tori Amos amongst them and plenty more)

You can listen to the entire double disc set here. We highly recommend it, even if just for the sheer weirdness of it all.
