We heard a story about Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers dressing as Santa and acting as MC for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music’s Christmas recital late last year. It seems he wasn’t just drafted in last minute to make a token appearance, as JD writes to tell us:

“I sat next to Flea in a toffy flight lounge in LA, while he was on the phone lining up acts for the gig [the Silverlake Christmas recital] about 12 months ago. He was on the phone to Wynton Marsalis, and they were chatting very amiably about who else they could line up for it. He was very relaxed and friendly, basically networking and pulling in favours from friends to help the school.

“When he left he noticed my Triumph motorcycle T-shirt, and we had a quick chat about British versus Japanese bikes. Lovely bloke.”
