Freddie The Dolphin is without doubt the best known inhabitant of Amble, Northumberland.

Surprising many local inhabitants by turning up unannounced in the harbour, the coquettish bottlenose first gained widespread attention after being masturbated by a particularly active animal rights activist in front of a boat full of tourists.

A reader brought the story of Freddie to our attention after reading a story we ran about ITV charmer Jerome Flynn.

TV star likes to stay in his trailer

“Following on from your story about Jerome Flynn offering to lick a fan’s nips, I can confirm that Robson Green isn’t nearly as friendly. A while ago he was filming in Amble, Northumberland. My dad took some kids down to the set to try to interview him for the school magazine. The children were, strangely, excited by the prospect of meeting Robson (there’s not much to do in Amble). Unfortunately he didn’t come out of his trailer to meet them.

“Incidentally, Amble is the town which had a very famous dolphin visitor, Freddie, for a few years in the early 90s. Freddie was involved in a sex scandal when a pleasure boat full of people spotted a local man energetically fondling his penis. The man was let off in court when a dolphin expert said that dolphins often extend their penises as we would a hand. Hmm.”

What Mr X didn’t tell us was that Robson isn’t the only member of Robson and Jerome to have visited Amble. Not only has Jerome visited Amble (for pleasure too, not just for work), he has been swimming with Freddie himself.

Whether or not he also wanked Freddie off has neither been confirmed nor denied. However he does state on his official website that “As I swam with Freddie I realised he was urging me to let go of whatever I was holding onto…“. You should draw your own conclusions as to what that could mean.
