Something For The Weekend
A few weeks ago, we had a little kareoke party in Soho to mark the launch of the new Sticky Rib Pot Noodle – a party that was attended by a few celebrity guests.
Despite it being in a ridiculous key, our new favourite person, Carol Decker, was game enough to get on stage and belt out China In Your Hand for us.
Look!
Well, Carol’s going to be singing more of her hits (in the keys of her choice) with her band T’Pau this weekend at the Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames. As an added bonus you’ll get to see Rick Astley, Jimmy Somerville, Imagination and all sorts of amazing 80s acts too.
Don’t tell us you’ve got anything better to do. Just go.
When good celebrities go bad: karaoke at the Sticky Rib pot noodle launch
Oh My God, Carol Decker sings China In Your Hand on karaoke. Amazing
Sticky Rib Pot Noodle – The Launch
The launch of Pot Noodle’s new ‘flavour’ – Sticky Rib – occurred on Wednesday night. It brought the Blackout Crew down from Bolton to “Rib It Up” with the kind of celebs that Popbitch likes most – those up for getting drunk and doing something silly.
There were loads of Pot Noodles there, including a gold one – which was given to the winner of the ‘Pot Idol’ competition (no not some sort of drug indurance test, it was karaoke). But how did he win? Not by being the best singer of course, but by getting his pubes out and falling over. (Well done, Ginger Prince)

Pot Idol was judged by Carol Decker-out-of-T’Pau (who also got up and sang China In Your Hand – awesome), Chucky Klapow, who also has to fulfil this role on a less important stage – i.e. live TV, with Don’t Stop Believing, the Blackout Crew and Bradley (from S Club 7).

* Brit from Mini Viva sang an Amy Winehouse track.
* Caroline Feraday sang with more enthusiasm than style
* The Cheeky Girls didn’t sing – they’re getting into acting now.
And then Tony Christie arrived!
He looks like this now:

Tony is in the West End, in Dreamboats and Petticoats at the moment. And preparing to release a brand new album on Acid Jazz.
It was a great night for many reasons, but mainly for the event behind the inspiration for Pot Noodle’s next flavour: ‘Stacking it on the Dance Floor and Knocking Everyone’s Wine all Over the Floor’ -mmmmm, sounds well nice.

We think we like The Scarletz
We met new girl band The Scarletz at the Sticky Rib Pot Noodle launch. They seemed nice. So we looked them up. This is their new single, Lazy Bones. It’s actually really nice: they don’t sound like they take themselves too seriously but it’s a great little summer track.
