step dad pulling my tooth out with string tied to a door handle, my mother arriving home from work horrified (blood was everywhere, and we just left it for her to clean up), and from that moment on I realised it was much easier to wind mum up if we joined forces. *I love you daddy warbucks*

Being a few months old Sitting in front of the telly, watching 3 black women in silver sequined dresses descend a mirrored staircase against a black background singing "Jesus Christ Superstar". Its a bit strange considering we never had a TV till 1982...

Cutting out pictures of Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin to mount on a "Men On The Moon" poster at my nursery school. Yes folks I really am that old. (grumbles about kids today, pops in dentures, wheels bathchair into the sunset.).

I remember being on holiday in Spain when I was about three. I used to enjoy running along a small pier, and then peeing off it, into the sea. I also had a big chunk of a tree which had snapped off, which I dragged around everywhere for the whole holiday. According to my parents, the other holidaymakers loved me, especially the Germans who would always talk admirably about my white-blond hair. Thank fuck they weren't Austrian.

The first actually dateable memory I have is of being in the cartoon/newsreel cinema in Piccadilly Circus (later the porn cinema from American Werewolf) and seeing a Movietone news featuring the death of Donald Campbell in Bluebird on Coniston.
