"Bayou Country" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Sheer perfection.

"I was the King, I really was the King" by Animals That Swim. Utterly fucking gorgeous, and it was pretty much ignored when it came out in the 90's.

Best album evah is Marvin's What's Going On, but we all know that one so I'll put forward Les Fleurs: The Minnie Riperton Anthology (again). Quite simply she is the most underrated artist of all time, her voice really is a thing of amazing beauty and this is as good a 'best of' as you'll find. Get it now and call me a cunt if you don't like it later (you will).

whenever i get asked this question there is only one answer i give people. although anything by the mighty zep or the beatles or plastikman or weller or...or...etc., although i have a very collection of great music in my cupboards at home, i always tend to advise people "paul's boutique" by the beastie boys. quite simply a masterpiece

The National: Alligator. Easily the most underrated album of the noughties. So good I'm prepared to sound like a cunt to describe it.

Mothership by Led Zeppelin. All their greatest hits, detailed liner notes and archive photographs. Rock music doesn't get better then the Zep- and the album is a perfect primer. No other band comes close- the Rolling who?
